Colonial Village is a 5-Star CMS Rated Community
OVERLAND PARK, Kansas – Colonial Village, a continuing care retirement community in Overland Park, KS, is proud to announce they received a five-star rating from theCenters for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
As a Medicare-certified care center, Colonial Village undergoes a rigorous onsite inspection by CMS staff each year. A CMS Five-Star quality rating ranks Colonial Village in the top 10% of retirement communities in the state, according to the Nursing Home Compare Five-Star Quality Rating System: Technical Users’ Guide.
Colonial Village’s Executive Director Dan Chik said, “I’m so excited for the Colonial team because this five-star rating shows how much we value and care for our residents, and it recognizes the hard work every team member gives each day.”
CMS created the Five-Star quality rating system to help individuals, families and caregivers compare retirement communities and rehabilitation centers more easily. The Five-Star rating system is based on information from annual state health inspections, staffing ratios, and a range of different quality measures such as cleanliness, staff responsiveness, rehospitalization, infections, and pain management. Scores in each of these three individual areas are then used to determine the overall star rating.
